Congratulations to Westfall High School's May Students of the Month:
WE HAVE A TIE FOR FRESHMEN:
Elleana Yeager (9): Elleanna is a helpful student in the classroom. She is diligent and works hard to stay focused and complete her assignments.
Brendan Biegler (9): Brendan is a great student. He is very respectful and does his work on time.
Ashton Carpenter (10): Ashton is a good student, a good friend, and a hard worker. He likes to work at Bob Evans and Pettits with Project LIFT. He helps fill food bags for Westfall Cares and sorts food at PICCA. Whatever task Ashton faces, he is determined to figure out how to make it work.
Alex Silverwood (11): Alex is a hard worker at school and on the job for Project Lift. He likes to go to the YMCA with his classmates, sort food for Picca, and fill food bags for Westfall Cares. He also likes to greet his friends every morning, especially his good friend Charles. He is a good dancer and always smiling.
Lenora Shannon (12): She is a pure joy to have in class. She is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure the day goes smoothly.
Congratulations to our May Staff Members of the Month: Emily Smith (College & Career Counselor), Kay Newman (Art), and Deputy Amann (SRO). Thank you for all you do!
Highlights of the Choir's trip to Chicago last week: the group toured museums and the aquarium, caught the new Broadway show, "Death Becomes Her," and enjoyed a White Sox baseball game. They experienced a Master class with Dr. Fredenburg at Vandercook College and performed on Sunday at the Field Museum. What an amazing couple of days for our students!
On Friday, May 10, WHS Juniors Christina Gardner and Lauren Barnes traveled to Chicago, Illinois, to compete in Presentation Management at the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference. Christina and Lauren qualified for Nationals by finishing first at the State Leadership Conference in Columbus. They competed against 11 other teams from across the country and the world. In addition to competing, one highlight was experiencing the Skydeck at Willis Tower. Thank you to Pickaway Ross for sponsoring the trip!

Our Juniors and Seniors participated in the Prom Promise Simulation to demonstrate the dangers of drinking and driving. Participants wore specially designed goggles to simulate the impairment caused by alcohol consumption. They then attempted to drive a golf cart through a designated course, experiencing firsthand the challenges and dangers of driving under the influence. This simulation provided a sobering reminder of the potential consequences of impaired driving.
